New blocks, more snowmen, some flowers and a birthday :o)

I was bragging just before Easter about finishing the Fat Quarter Star QA, during the holidays, but what can I say - I was soooo wrong.... Searching for the perfect star to make, time went by, and today I made the easiest star you can make. Just to get it done. But its a great star, and I like it :o)

It will go perfectly with the other stars I have. Looking forward to have the quilt finished, I think itwill be just lovely :o)

And so I made the 8th star of Bloggers BOM, cause the 9th is just around the corner.

The merry snowmen is popping up on the blocks - looking good :o)

They are waiting patiently for their arms and noses to be stitch on. The eyes will have to wait until the quilting is done.

Yesterday was the National Day of Norway, this is some of the flowers that were decorating our home for the party we had. They were just gorgeous!

And another little flower :o)

Today our lovely dog, Cora, is celebrating her 5th birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY :o)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend :o)

Four days off work.....

and I was going to sew until I dropped! But then, from nowhere, came blue sky and a wonderful warm sun :o) Spring is here!! I had to join Oda, get some D-vitamins in the sun.

I promised some more photos from the meeting last weekend, but then I realised that they were mostly from our booth. I was too busy to see the exhibition. But I hope you enjoy them anyway :o)

Today the 7th block of bloggers BOM was published at Cluck Cluck Sew. This was just the thing I needed to get me to the sewingroom today - and here it is

And when I were there, I started cutting the fabrics for the first block of Merry Merry Snowmen. These are all the fabrics for the first block, they are gorgeous - Rouenneries Deux from French General.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!

This has been a good weekend :o)

The last few weeks we have been redecorating the room next to my sewing room, and that meant - no electricity or lights for me - and, as you probably already have figured out, not much time spent by the sewing machine.... But now its back to normal, and I have been sewing again :o)
First of all, I have made Oda the makeup-purse she has been promised for a while now.

I made this some time ago

And this yesterday. Can you see the difference?

I'd say they look quite the same, if I didn't know better :o) Not easy, you say? What if I put them together.

No? Maybe its the photographers fault :o) I'll tell you. The first one I made was without stabilizer on the bottom part, I simply forgot. So it just collapses when put on the table, I dont recommend to do that, much nicer with the stabilizer :o) This is a very nice purse, and it can take a lot.

I have made these two aswell, just to try the locks. I thought I hade some laces to hide the stitches at the top, but it seems I have to get me some.

Im a bit behind on the two BOM's Im in. I managed to make block 3 and 4 of Bloggers BOM - nice :o)

So all in all, it has been a productive weekend and Im very content :o)

A new week is coming, hope it will be a joyful week for all !

On a rainy Sunday....

its nice to be cheered up by lots of beautiful fabrics and sewing along :o) Thats how my day has been - wonderful!!
And tomorrow will be good aswell. After an exciting day at work ( I've just changed my occupation and are the proud co-owner of a quiltshop in Bergen, Norway!!) I will attend a class learning how to make roses of silk-ribbon. We have to be prepared and make something to practise on. I want to make a makeup-purse and have made this. I will make the roses along the leaves in the middle.

And, of course, I have made some stars....... I believe I will show you my stars until you cant take anymore :o) Please bear with me !! Here we go.......

Fat Quarter Star QA

Blogger's BOM (which is also a star this month....)

And this little purse was just for fun :o)

So, my friends, a brand new week ahead of us - carpe diem and enjoy :o)

A class with André Wallenborg and new BOM's

Last weekend I was taking a class with André Wallenborg, making a nice looking bag. For you who may wonder - who is this???, he is a norwegian designer making clothes but mostly he designs and makes his own bags. He has even made clothes and bags for the norwegian royal family, not bad!!!

It is not a very posh kind of bag, but it is the small details that is the clue :o)

This pocket is a 3 in 1 pocket, one in the back and two behind the zipper. Very smart!

There is a zippered pocket inside aswell, in two levels. One level with pockets for the mobile and cards and one big pocket.

And on the other side a pocket with folds and rubberbands on the top.
Not a single seam are visible, everything is hidden, both on the outside and inside - I love it! And so does my daughter it seems, she asked me to make one for her aswell :o) So I will try to remember all the tricks we learnt.....

Everybody who have been following me for a while knows that I love joining quilt alongs and BOM's :o) And as you can see on my sidebar I have recently joined two more. One is called Fat Quarter Stars Quilt Along at Moose on the Porch Quilts. I bought Soul Blossoms by Amy Butler some time ago, and I will be using it with white as background.

The other one is hosted by Jackie at Canton Village Quilt Works and is called Bloggers BOM, find all the info here. For this I will be using some of my Kaffe Fassett fabrics, in red/pink and blue/green and maybe some purple (just because I love it!!).

Looking at my stash I suddenly realised that I need some more in the blue/green colourway - and some background. Hmmm, so off I go to shop at Jackie's :o)

You still have a chance to join the Wanttobe quilter campaign, lots of more prizes to win every day until the end of October - just give me a word!!

Wish all my friends a wonderful evening!
