Travel bag for my iPad

I did have a cover for my new, precious iPad, but it didn't cover the back :o( So what if I loose it or maybe it can get scratches from something in my bag..... Ooooh no, don't want that :o) And I did see a tutorial over at Freckled Whimsy for a very nice little bag. So I found some nice fabrics. Purple is my favourite colour at the moment - love it! And before I knew it, my new bag was done!

I also got a new book today. It's called 'Red home' by Natalie Bird. Lots of nice little stitcheries to be used either in the wonderful quilt or for other smaller projects. As the title says - its a lot of red in the book. A lovely book :o)

And for the joy of your eyes, that is if you like flowers as much as I do, some flowers from our garden.

I never get tired of looking at all the little wonderful details in every flower!

Wishing you all a warm and sunny weekend!

This weekend was planned......

until my dearest came back from Singapore, four days earlier than expected. I was soooo happy :-) He even remembered to buy me two thimbles ( which I forgot to take a photo of....). I didn't expect more, when he told me he bought me an early birthdaypresent! Would I care to have it now??? Ehhhhh- yes if you put it that way I could probably be bothered to open it now, my love ....... I was totally taken by surprise, because he bought me

a brand new, white iPad with red leather cover :o)) Wiiiii - I have wanted one for soooo long - he's perfect ( my guy, that is :o)) Love him !

But this also took away all my desire to sew, I just wanted to play with my new toy! I managed to make these make-up purses for a friend of mine, as I promised her.

So I have no more to show, except for a beautiful picture I took on my way to work the other day, a couple of minutes from our house.

Wising you all a creative week :o)

Travel purse

This is a new pattern from AnnAKa, a great norwegian designer. Its an easy pattern, and makes a nice purse with room for tickets, passports and other important papers. Lots of pockets and two of them with lace zipper :o)

Enjoying lovely summerdays, no much sewing these days :o)

Have a wonderful week!

Weekend sewing

For a couple of weeks now we have had such a beautiful weather, and my mind has not been set on sewing. But every now and then a little urge to sit at my sewingtable did come..... :o) So, I have made some quick little useful things. Like this

This is also a kind of strawberry

I love this fabric, red with flowers :o)

This is a rhododendron in full bloom

Isnt it gorgeous??

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

New blocks, more snowmen, some flowers and a birthday :o)

I was bragging just before Easter about finishing the Fat Quarter Star QA, during the holidays, but what can I say - I was soooo wrong.... Searching for the perfect star to make, time went by, and today I made the easiest star you can make. Just to get it done. But its a great star, and I like it :o)

It will go perfectly with the other stars I have. Looking forward to have the quilt finished, I think itwill be just lovely :o)

And so I made the 8th star of Bloggers BOM, cause the 9th is just around the corner.

The merry snowmen is popping up on the blocks - looking good :o)

They are waiting patiently for their arms and noses to be stitch on. The eyes will have to wait until the quilting is done.

Yesterday was the National Day of Norway, this is some of the flowers that were decorating our home for the party we had. They were just gorgeous!

And another little flower :o)

Today our lovely dog, Cora, is celebrating her 5th birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY :o)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend :o)

Yarn paradise :o))

Look at this - isnt it gorgeous???

Its a sale, 30% off all wool yarn at www.garnstudio.com....... And I just had to buy some :o)

Merino wool for babies

Red, white and blue for a Marius-sweater

Various pinks because they're so beautiful, and I want to make something for me. Any suggestions??

A new type, silk and merinowool, as soft as babyskin. I have admired all the gorgeous shawls everyone is making - now I want to make one too :o)

Brown, beige and offwhite  - also for one lucky baby ;o) (no, its not me - hahaha)

I even made a new bag for my knitting.... Actually it was meant as a nice everyday-bag, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted.

Now I have to dive into my yarn-paradise, looking for what to make :o)

I just want to say thanks to all of you for visiting and especially to those who take the time to leave me some nice words - they are truly appreciated!

Have a wonderful Sunday evening!

Some finishes

Yesterday I finished the toilet bag, with some minor changes :o)

And this is where it can be seen the coming weeks, on the cash desk in the shop.

I love making the cute makeup purses from AnnAKa, I have made some :o) Oda asked me if I could make some gifts for her friends, and of course I did! Oda chose the fabrics to use and they are the cutest ever, dont you think :o)

Hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Toilet bag and two (?) girls

In between all of my other projects, I have started a toiletbag. This is a pattern from the norwegian magazine 'myQuilt', the latest issue. Its not finished, but I like the fabrics so much I want to show you :o)

Its linen and cotton, isnt it beautiful?? I will show you the finished bag soon, it will be a model in the shop. Maybe that's the solution to finish my projects, to make models for the shop only :o)

Here are my two wonderful girls - and can you believe how alike they are?

Emilie and Oda
The picture is photoshopped, it was originally two pictures. But we saw the resemblance and thought it would be fun to have them in one photo. They are taken the same day at the same birthdayparty, actually Emilies birthday.

Have a wonderful evening!

Merry, Merry Snowmen (?)

Should it feel a bit weird making snowmen, when flowers are blooming, the trees are almost green again and the birds are singing? I dont know... But either way, the BOM packages are coming and I dont want to get behind, I really like to finish it before xmas :o) AND its a lot of fun making them. Piecing, applique, stitching - so much fun and variety.

1st block

I will use small buttons for the eyes, they will be sewn on after the quilting is done. I didnt get quite as much done on block 2 during Easter as I planned, because my DH are having an infection in his foot, and the days went by with lots of other activities - nursing/doctors/ hospital etc. But he is recovering well and will soon be on his feet again - both of them.... :o)
Beginning of block 2
The applique is meant to be done with freezepaper and needleturn, but Im not too familiar with that technique, so Im using my machine to do the applique. The only thing I have to change - I have to mirror the patterns. And of course, I didnt think of it at first, so I have some spare reindeers and a bird......

Block 1 and 2
And I have knitted a new cap for Emilie :o)

A week has already gone by, enjoy your weekend and do some sewing :o)

Fat Quarter Star

For schools and a lot of people, Easter holidays started this weekend. And this is what the weather is like in Bergen.

And I was telling you, one week ago, spring was coming - haha couldnt be more wrong :o)) But at least I have been able to make the last blocks of Fat Quarter Star QA. Or, actually I have one more block to do. I didnt like one of the blocks, so I have to find another nice star-block to make. Any suggestions??

Now Im going to frame the blocks with a thin white border and the a bigger border of the remaining FQ's, add sashing and its done :o) Maybe during Easter........

AnnAKa's new box-pattern was really nice and I wanted to try and make one or two (or three...). So I have almost finished one of them, only the handsewing remains - as you can see on the picture. Isnt that the most gorgeous fabric??

Whether you are spending Easter holidays at home or somewhere else,

HAPPY EASTER :o)
