Det snør, det snør - tiddelibom......

Believe it or not, but this is Bergen in the beginning of April, not what we are used to at all....

It has been like this the last few days, but they promise sun and warmer weather next week. Cross my fingers!!
But on the positive side, I get to spend more time sewing and knitting!

I have got a new companion in my sewing room, or at least for a while :o)

A Bernina 710

Its a dream, with everything you could wish for. It is new in the shop and I need to learn how to operate it, all the small, handy tricks :o) So I will be able to demomstrate it properly. And so far, I can just say - WOW, I want this !!!!

I used it to finish the owl-runner I have been working with. Its inspired by a pattern from AnnAKa, making the owls with the Curvy-ruler.

Love the owls, so many expressions on their 'face' :o)

Also the tunic has been finished. It turned out a bit bigger than I expected, but that just means she can use it longer :o) First as a dress, then tunic and at last a vest.

Wishing you a sunny week!

A happy Easter :o)

This must be the most sunny Easter ever (and the weeks before)! Hard to find time for sewing.... A couple of days ago we had a wonderful trip to Ålesund, to look at a sailing boat :o)

In the car, on the road, I knitted. A beautiful tunic, in one of my new favourite yarn, milk fiber from Viking Garn. Its so soft and easy to knit with. The pattern for the tunic is found in a danish book called 'Babystrik på pinde nr 3'.

I have also made some owls, which is eventually going to be a tablerunner.

Look at these beautiful pictures from Easter in Western Norway

Hope you all have a great Easter!

I'm on a roll :o)

Hehe - I'm really not sure if that makes any sense, but it sounded right :o) I really got my mojo back, and I am loving it!! The toiletbag is finished, and in use.

The other side. The size is perfect for a bottle of shampoo and other things.

I need some new placemats for our diningtable. I have made six, who need to be quilted. Im not sure how I want to do it. Maybe a heart or two on the biggest piece, would that be nice?

The new ruler(at least for me its new....), Quick Curve Ruler, needed to be tried out! I saw a lovely tablerunner in the new issue of MyQuilt, I picked some blue and beige - et voila....

Lovely weather in Bergen these days. This is from yesterday, waiting for the bus after work.

Lots of boats out enjoying the sun - for a little while it almost felt like summer..... ;o)

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Today's work

I have finished the purple runner and it has got its place on the counter in the shop. The designer, AnnAKa, is visiting Quiltekroken this weekend to teach a class. Wonder if she notices it.... :o)

There were quite a lot of leftover - fabric from the twisterquilt. So today was the day to do something about that :o) I cut the biggest pieces into 5" squares, this will be a little twister-runner, a pillow or something made with the little twister-ruler. But I also got quilte a lot of 3"/ 2,5"/ 2"/ 1,5" squares. I hope this was the beginning of a new activity for me, cutting bits and pieces to make usable pieces!! And of course, in time, use them :o)

I spent most of the afternoon cutting and sewing, love it! I almost finished 'Mona's toalettveske', I have some seams left for tomorrow. This is one of our most popular patterns, and a lot of you have made it. Its a very good pattern, so I probably will make some for gifts :o)

So long!

One more cover...

My friend was so happy with the iPad cover I made her, that she asked if I could make one for a birthdaygift. This time for a Macbook Pro. And so I did :o)

I used the new line from Lynette Anderson, Follow the Heart. Wonderful fabrics :o)

Forgot to put on the new label I have got........ :o/

Have a wonderful evening!

Lately its purple....

Lately my favorite colour is purple, I want to use it in every project I make. Hence this runner, in purple and grey. One of the latest patter from AnnAKa, called Trendy. One colour I dont use much is black, so it was kind of strange using it as a border. But I like the look of it. The small triangles are folded and pressed, boy did my fingertips feel that........ I was hoping to finish it today aswell, but couldn't find a backing I wanted to use. So its not quilted yet, as you can see.

A friend of mine asked me if I could make an iPad cover for her, and of course I could :o) I searched the net and found a nice pattern here, www.sewmamasew.com/store/media/blog/SMSLaptopSleeve.pdf.
She chose what fabric and lining she wanted, and off I went to the sewing room. It is a great pattern, and you can adjust the size to anything you want, from cellphone to laptop or even bigger :o) It fitted perfectly!

She was very satisfied and so was her daughter, she wanted one too...... :o)

Have a lovely evening :o)

See you soon :o)

A brand new year!

Already a couple of days into 2013, but still........

Happy new year to all of you :o)

Lately it seems like one post a month is what I can manage. Lets hope I can improve that!!

With the new year came the desire to make something new, with a 'new' ruler I havent tried yet. Actually I was meant to start this some time ago, but never too late.... The squares were cut and ready to sew, purple and various lights.

And then - the ruler! Im probably fooling myself to believe that you havent already figured out that its the Twister...... ;o) To my husbands big surprise, I started to cut what he thought was a finished quilt.... Well - little does he know ;o)

As always I have a favorite part of the top. I just love the purple with roses!

Before I called it a day, I had to try to cut and reassemble the first rows.

Wow, this is fun! I really like it, cant wait to continue tomorrow :o)
To be continued.......

Have a wonderful evening!

Knitting my time away :o)

I really enjoy knitting these days. Lots of knitting and not so much sewing.... Maybe it has to do with the fact that we have started selling yarn in the store :o)

Look at this yummi picture

Anyway, today Emilie was one very happy girl when I finished her Marius-sweater.

The observant reader will notice that the pattern are slightly different from the original Marius. The reason is I forgot a border and to make it the same before and after the main pattern I had to make a little twist. So this is a very exclusive sweater, one of a kind :o)

Today it was time to make the traditional Gingerbread house.

Until New Years Eve, it will be safe here :o)

I had trouble uploading pictures today because apparently my storing space in Picasa Web Album was full (I didnt even know I used Picasa Web Album.....). I tried to delete some of the pictures, but it didnt help. Do anyone have any advise for me?

Wishing you all a wonderful week :o)

Something new

Since my last post we have got another grandchild in our family, she's soooo cute. Unfortunately she is not living in Bergen but next weekend we will visit her in Oslo - looking forward to that :o))

In the meantime I have been doing some knitting. I have finished the zig-zag blanket.

I have also made a sweet little pullover, for a sweet little girl :o)

So this is going with us to Oslo. And hopefully I have managed to finish the jacket I have started. Its so fun to make those tiny small baby-clothes :o)

A couple of weeks ago, a new AnnAKa-pattern came to the shop. And of course I had to try it :o) It was small bags for shoes, laundry, underwear or whatever is nice to keep organised in your suitcase. This is my version:

Love the lady :o) I got a few of them at Vestlandstreffet and this was the perfect product for them, dont you think?

Some of you may have noticed that I have changed the name of my blog. For a long time I have tried to find another, not so complicated (!!!), name. But I havent really come up with something I like. Until my dearest one day said - You know, quilting is like 'snop' for you, you cant ever get enough! And I knew right away that Snop was the new name :o) For you who doesnt know the word, snop is the same as candy, and he's right I cant ever get enough of sewing, blogs, patterns, fabrics, magazines, books, rulers......... I love it!!!

Its been really busy lately, so today I have no plans. Feels good, I just want to knit and sew a bit and maybe read my new book from Carlos Ruiz Zafon - he is one of my favourite writers.

Have a wonderful, relaxing Sunday
